Carleigh and Colin’s engagement session at Lafayette Square Park felt like the best kind of November afternoon. Cold, colorful, and absolutely beautiful.

The leaves were glowing gold, the paths were covered in fall color, and the whole session had a little bit of an Autumn in New York feeling, just tucked into St. Louis.

Carleigh and Colin are both teachers, so November made the most sense for their engagement photos before their summer wedding. It also gave us one of the prettiest fall backdrops of the season.

They are such a calm, easygoing couple, and that really came through in their photos. We kept the session simple: walking through the park, stopping where the light and color felt best, and giving them just enough direction so everything felt comfortable without becoming stiff.

The result was exactly what I love in an engagement session. Relaxed, personal, and full of real laughter.
